Update on Plywood Theft

Both Subjects Identified and Plywood Returned to Owner

Valparaiso Police have been investigating the theft of plywood from a construction site in the 3900 block of Crown Dr. The theft occurred on May 4th.

Last week police released a neighbor’s security camera footage that captured two individuals loading the stolen plywood onto a trailer.

Police received numerous tips regarding the individuals and through the multiple tips police have identified the individuals. Police were also able to recover the stolen plywood and it has been returned to the proper owner.  

Criminal charges are being forwarded to the Porter County Prosecutors Officer on both individuals. The individuals are from Portage and Lake Station.

The Valparaiso Police Department would like to thank all the individuals that contacted the department and provided information regarding the identity of the individuals.
