tip411 Text Leads to Arrest of Male with Cocaine and Heroin

For Immediate Release:  February 8, 2018


On February 7, 2018, an Atlantic City man was arrested with cocaine and heroin after the Atlantic City Police Department received information on tip411.

At 1:09 pm, detectives of the Special Investigation Section arrested Farod Chapman after finding him in possession of 35 bags of heroin and five grams of cocaine.  Detectives had initiated an investigation into Chapman distributing narcotics after receiving information from tip411, our anonymous text service provider. 

Chapman’s vehicle was searched by detectives after Detective Brian Hambrecht’s K-9 partner Nikki, a narcotic detection dog, indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle.  Detectives recovered an additional 250 bags of heroin.

The investigation was led by Sergeant Richard Andrews and Detective Nick Berardis.


ARRESTED:  Farod Chapman, a 22 year old male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with the intent to distribute, possession with the intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school zone, and possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone.

Chapman was released on a summons with a future court date.
