Male Arrested With More Than 3,300 Bags of Heroin

For Immediate Release:  February 23, 2018

 

On February 21, 2018, an Atlantic City man was arrested after engaging in drug transactions leading to the recovery of more than 3,300 bags of heroin.

Detectives of the Special Investigations Section initiated an investigation into the suspected distribution of illegal narcotics from a residence in the 1300 block of Mediterranean Avenue.  Khalif Toombs was observed exiting a residence and taking part in numerous drug transactions.  Detectives stopped Toombs as he began to drive away from the area.  He was arrested and found in possession of 60 bags of heroin and $1,080 in cash.  The cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales, was seized. 

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Toombs’s residence.  They recovered an additional 3,310 bags of heroin recovered with an estimated street value of more than $16,000.

 

ARRESTED:  Khalif Toombs, a 29 year old male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with the intent to distribute, possession with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone, and possession with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

Toombs was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
